From graffiti, stencils, prints and murals, to street installations and large-scale paintings, it is very much safe to say that street art has become a prominent part of the contemporary art world. Street art is an eye-catching art form with an intriguing history that has shifted into a visual platform for artistic expression and experimentation.

In recent years, Memphis has been splashing paint to the walls and celebrating its community with its commissioned public works all around the downtown area. Some of the most popular (as well as my personal favorite) murals were created by artists Birdcap, Nosey 42, and Jeff Zimmerman.
